Each year since 2000 the Trust has engaged Owl Research and Marketing
to survey the catchment community to:
- Provide information about knowledge, attitudes and behaviours
of catchment residents regarding issues the Trust is involved
in.
- Provide information to guide the following years UPRCT Marketing
Plan
- Provide statistical data to show how representative respondents
are of the broader catchment community.
- Provide data to look at changes over time.
Some key findings for 2003 were:
- The environment was the most important issue in Parramatta
(47%), Holroyd (43%) and Blacktown (35%) council areas, and marginally
second by 2% in Baulkham Hills council area (39%).
- The most important environmental issue is 'water pollution
in creeks and lakes'.
- 61% of respondents claimed they would be willing to install
a rainwater tank for non-drinking uses, and 42% an irrigation
system to water their gardens more efficiently.
