PROJECTS:

Cumberland Golf Course Flood Retarding Basins: Pendle Hill Creek, Greystanes

Summary

In 1993 two wet basins, with both water storage and flood storage, and one dry flood retarding basin were built on the north-west corner of the golf course by Holroyd City Council to protect 8 homes from over floor flooding and 35 from over-grund flooding. The Golf Club contributed because the works also provide additional water storage benefits. To minimise distruption to the golf course, construction took only 4 months.
