Summary
This project involves excavating a high level floodway
next to Toongabbie Creek in Sue Savage Reserve (Package A, under
construction) and raising the height of the existing Sierra Place
flood basin wall to increase its flood capacity (Package B). These
works will significantly reduce the flood threat in the 'confluence'
area where 309 residential properties, including 44 homes, are subject
to 100-year flooding. The works will also safeguard the Sierra Place
basin by enabling it to contain the 100-year flood.
