PROJECTS:

Multi-use Recreational Pathway Concept Plan

Summary

This concept plan has been finalised and maps are viewable on the GIS section of the Trust's website. The concept report is available to download.

After the completion of the Green Corridors Vegetation Management Strategy for the Upper Parramatta River catchment, it was recognised that there were many opportunities to link cycleways and recreational pathways using the 'green corridors' along creeklines.

The aims of the project are to:

  1. To identify and map the preferred routes for multi -use recreational pathways (MURP's) in the Upper Parramatta River catchment, linking to regional centres on the outskirts of the catchment, incorporating existing or proposed MURP's of the Roads and Traffic Authority, councils, the Department of Infrastructure Planning & Natural Resources and other land owners/managers in the catchment.
  2. To identify gaps in current and proposed linkages and make recommendations on preferred routes and any limitations associated with possible routes for multi-use recreational pathways.
  3. To provide a broad overview of options for path materials in areas containing multiple values, including high conservation value and biodiversity resources.
